🎮 Ubisoft has laid out patch 1.1.8 for Assassin's Creed Shadows, headlined by a manual jump option—something fans have been asking for for a while 46. The update goes live on February 17 as a 1.73GB download on PS5, and you’ll need to enable the Advanced Parkour option in settings to turn manual jumping on for both Naoe and Yasuke 4.

Manual jump isn’t the only tweak. Patch 1.1.8 also adds more detailed loadout screens, and it sharpens critical-hit feedback with flashing enemy health bars and snappier animations 7. The update lands as the game nears its first anniversary 6.

Ubisoft also confirmed in its Winter Roadmap that the Claws of Awaji expansion will hit Switch 2 on March 10, after arriving on other platforms in September 21. The DLC adds a new island (Awaji), a new storyline that follows Naoe and Yasuke as they hunt for lost treasure, plus new weapons and skins usable in the main game 2. The roadmap also includes a community parkour challenge for players to compete in 75.

Highlights

  1. Jump-anytime control: With Advanced Parkour enabled, both Naoe and Yasuke can jump whenever they want instead of relying entirely on contextual movement 4
  2. Roadmap scope: Ubisoft’s Winter Roadmap runs through the end of March, pairing the February 17 title update with a community parkour challenge 75
  3. Inventory deep-dive: A new detailed stats page, accessed from the inventory, is built for granular breakdowns of damage, buffs, and the combined effects of your gear 7
  4. Switch 2 date clarity: Claws of Awaji was the one missing piece for the Switch 2 release, and its timing has moved from a vague “later in 2026” to a firm March 10 date 2

Perspectives

Push Square: To use manual jump, players have to turn on the Advanced Parkour option in settings. The feature works for both playable characters, Naoe and Yasuke.

Nintendo Life: The Switch 2 version shipped as an almost complete package at the end of last year, with the Claws of Awaji expansion as the one major holdout—after it had already arrived on other systems in September.

GameSpot: The critical-hit visual upgrade adds flashing enemy health bars and snappier animations, making it easier to tell when your weapon is landing big damage.
